Lonestar Health Information Exchange

Health Information Exchange powering data interoperability

Lonestar HIE is a Texas Medicaid HIE Partner. Our primary objectives are to increase HIE use and adoption by Texas Medicaid providers and create additional capacity (e.g., additional HIE organizations) in the state of Texas that can support that use and adoption.

The HIE Connectivity Project will accomplish its primary objectives by implementing the following three strategies. Successful implementation of the three strategies will result in increased HIE adoption and use by Medicaid providers, creation of new HIE capacity in the State, and bring clinical information into the Texas Medicaid program via HIE.

Lonestar HIE is also a leading consultant to interoperability and health information exchange (HIE) projects nationwide. LHIE has provided planning and technical expertise to several active HIEs, including state-level HIE projects, Beacon Community projects, non-profit Health Information Organizations, and vendors. By working with a variety of organizations and companies — even competitors — we offer a rich and varied perspective while respecting the proprietary nature of our clients’ information.

Lonestar HIE Project Teams are active on various HL7 technical committees, projects, and special interest groups ensuring that public health’s interests and concerns are well represented.
